Lord of the Rings

The extended edition of The Two Towers is very very cool. There are more interviews/documentaries to watch on the appendix DVDs than were on Fellowship's DVDs, plus the 40 minutes of added footage really fleshes out the movie. I know that sounds silly, but I felt that the theatrical version of Two Towers was smaller in scope than the theatrical Fellowship had been. Obviously Fellowship had to set up the story and what not, so there would be a grandiose feel to it. I didn't feel like the extended edition of Fellowship fleshed the film out so much as I thought it just made the movie more badass than it already was. The bulk of the new footage in Two Towers concerns Faramir and Merry, Pippin, and Treebeard. Faramir's character is now much much more developed than in the theatrical version, and you can never go wrong with more Ent footage. In those respects I felt like the film was "fleshed" out. I eagerly await The Return of the King.
